Both libraries support guided recordings and live client sessions. The important difference is where else the music can appear. LuxAuralis excludes music-only YouTube videos and meditation apps, limiting two ways a client might hear the same track outside your work. ZENmix allows more uses and offers a larger catalog with more affordable options.

When you use the same piece across a series of meditations or hypnosis recordings, it becomes part of the experience you create. Hearing a client say they recognize it from a relaxation channel or sleep app might not be what you want.
That's why the LuxAuralis license rules out music-only YouTube videos and meditation or relaxation apps. Those restrictions are intended to reduce the chances of the music becoming familiar through standalone listening. They do not make it exclusive: another coach or therapist can license the same track for their own sessions or spoken recordings.
ZENmix permits relaxation videos with nature footage and certain consumer app uses. That flexibility is useful if you create those products. For a practice built around personal sessions and guided work, narrower distribution may be more valuable.
You can play it during a paid massage, therapy session, or meditation class without talking over it. You can also use it in spoken meditations, affirmations, or hypnosis recordings that you give to clients or sell. One purchase covers any number of compliant projects, without a subscription.
For a recording, at least one-third of the music used must have audible voice-over. If you use 30 minutes of music, at least 10 of those minutes need spoken guidance over the music. This requirement does not apply to live playback. If you record a session with the music in it, the recording must meet the same rule.
ZENmix also allows guided recordings and live sessions. Its Standard License doesn't specify the same one-third narration threshold, but it has its own distribution and venue conditions. The meaningful choice is not whether you can run a practice with either library: you can. It's which licensing approach fits the way you want the music to reach people.
ZENmix has more music to browse, more affordable individual tracks, and WAV downloads alongside MP3. It also has plenty of hour-long pieces. If you need lots of moods and instruments, or a WAV file for your production workflow, those are real advantages.
The reason to choose a track here is simpler: you like how it sounds beneath your voice, and you value keeping that music out of standalone relaxation videos and apps. Listen to the previews with a passage of your own script in mind. A track you enjoy working with is worth more than a catalog you won't use.
You can play purchased tracks during paid therapy, massage, meditation, and yoga sessions. You do not have to speak over the music. Recording a session brings the recording rules into play.
You can give or sell clients a finished guided meditation. Audible voice-over must cover at least one-third of the music used: 30 minutes of music needs at least 10 minutes with speech. Share your finished recording, not the separate music file.
The license excludes meditation or relaxation apps, similar digital services, and music-only YouTube videos. For a membership audio library or client portal, clarify whether the planned service falls within that exclusion before buying.
Your purchase covers unlimited compliant projects and has no fixed expiry. Refunds and payment reversals end the license; violations can also end it. Read the full LuxAuralis license.
You use music for guided meditations, hypnosis, or live client sessions, and prefer it not to be licensed for music-led relaxation videos or meditation apps. That narrower distribution matters more to you than having the largest catalog.
You want more styles to choose from, need WAV files, or plan to make relaxation videos or a suitably licensed app. More affordable singles and bundles may also be a better fit.
Start with these three previews. Read a little of your script aloud while listening, then leave a pause. Notice whether the music leaves enough room for both.

No. The license is nonexclusive, so other practitioners can use the same track. Excluding music-only videos and meditation apps reduces two ways it could become familiar through casual listening, but it is not an exclusivity guarantee.
Yes, if the video meets the recording conditions. It must be a qualifying voice-led work with the visual content and voice-over as the main focus, and at least one-third of the music used must have audible narration. A music-only relaxation video is not permitted.
Yes. You may sell or give away the finished spoken recording if the narration requirement is met. The underlying music cannot be offered separately, and buyers do not receive a license to reuse the music in their own projects.
Yes. The one-third voice-over rule applies to recordings, not to permitted live playback during therapy, massage, meditation, yoga, or similar sessions. If you record the session with the music included, the recording rules apply.
The difference is not exclusivity, track length, or unlimited reuse; both offer long music and reusable licenses. The reason to choose here is that you like the particular piece and value restrictions that keep it out of music-led relaxation videos and meditation apps.
Choose music you like, check that the license covers how you will share it, and build a short test recording before working on the whole session.
